The Sapin soy candle carries with it the stunning scent of wild forest and fir branches that fill the woods with their perfume. The fresh, boreal notes of this candle are felt as soon as the match is struck and quickly envelop the space in a sweet, vanilla fragrance of majestic conifer.
If you pay attention, you can hear its wooden wick crackling gently.
Soy candle handmade in Quebec. Soy wax is 100% natural and environmentally friendly, as it produces no soot when burned. (Burns for approximately 60 hours).
Wooden wicks are used differently than traditional cotton wicks. Following these (very simple) steps will help your wick burn better and your candle burn completely.
- 1. The wood wick must be kept very short at all times. Yes, it may seem strange, but this step is very important. We suggest using a chisel to cut the wick as short as possible.
- 2. Before relighting your wood wick, make sure you have removed the blackened wood. This is made up of the ash from the wick, and the candle will not be able to relight without removing this small part. (Here, a wick trimmer can be a good option to do a good job!)
- 3. To prolong its life, you should light your candle for a maximum of 2 hours. You can leave it burning for up to 4 hours, but it will burn out more quickly. Before extinguishing it, make sure the entire surface of your candle is melted. This will avoid making the surface uneven and digging a hole that will waste wax.
- 4. You may have to light your candle several times before the wood ignites. It's a bit like a campfire; you have to give the wood time to catch fire. What we suggest is to tilt the candle slightly and light it with the lighter, holding the flame on the wooden wick for a few seconds. If you notice that the wick is having trouble staying lit, we recommend taking a small piece of paper towel and absorbing a little wax. This (miraculous) step will allow your wick to catch fire better since there will be less wax in the ignition area. Very important: the candle should not be near a fan or a draft. The air will blow on the wick and make it go out...
- 5. Finally, when you have a little wax left at the bottom of your jar, we recommend adding it to your wax cube diffuser and enjoying the last few hours of fragrance. When we make the candles, we add a sticker to keep the wick firmly at the bottom of the jar.
